Leadership. Trust. Experience.

Hello and welcome to my page. I appreciate you taking the time to learn more about me and my campaign. My name is Domonique Flowers and I am running to serve on the Baltimore City Board of School Commissioners.

In the upcoming election you will have the opportunity to select who you want to serve on the School Board for Baltimore City. The individuals you select will play an integral role in shaping the destiny of all children who attend public schools in Baltimore City. It goes without saying that you want to select someone who possesses the requisite experience for this important endeavor. You want a person who not only understands the school system, but who also has a track record of advocating for the needs of parents, teachers and students. Finally, you want someone who has a plan of action to effectuate change to ensure in the success of all students. I am here to say that I am that person.

First and foremost, I am a proud father of a one year old daughter named Sachi and a five year old son named Gabriel. You can see them and my wife Ciara pictured on the left. My son attends Thomas Johnson Elementary Middle School. While I grew up in Prince Georges County, I attended college in Baltimore City where my wife and I have lived here for 8 years.

Why I am running

December 13, 1999, would serve as a life-changing date for me. That was when I first began my journey working with children as an assistant daycare instructor at an aftercare facility in Clinton, Maryland. Little did I know that this would be the start of my lifelong passion to ensure that children and teens are given the tools they need to succeed. Since that fateful day I have spent every year of my life in some capacity working with parents and children, encouraging them to fulfill their dreams and reach for the stars. This is exactly what I want to do as your next School Board Commissioner. I believe that every child possesses the ability to succeed in life, they just need the right people and resources in their lives to help them overcome any obstacle that they encounter.
